Ocean Dots: Bringing Atolls to You
By Islomaniac | June 21, 2007
I recently came acrossed a website called oceandots.com. If you are an island lover it is really one of the most remarkable website you will come across. The website is essentially a image-based atlas of the world’s islands and reefs as viewed from low earth orbit. The site is organized by ocean and then by island group so if you are looking for a specific island or region its easy to find. The images on the site have been obtained by the NASA Gateway to Astronaut Photography of Earth database and the MODIS Rapid Response System gallery.
Check out the website here:
Ahunui: Ahunui is a small, circular-shaped atoll of the Center East Group of atolls, located 55 km southeast from ParaoaVairaatea and 120 km southwest from Vairaatea.
