By Islomaniac | June 24, 2007

Soneva Fushi Resort and Spa in the Maldives recently made it onto the Forbes list for the most expensive hotel suites in the world. To make the top 10 you had to be charging at least $10,000 per night, with the top spots going to the Two Story Sky Villa at The Palms in Las Vegas and the famous Bridge Suite at the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas, both charging a whopping $25, 000 per night. Coming in at the number 10 position was a suite at Soneva Fushi Resort and Spa’s. To read more about Soneva Fushi’s luxurious accommodation and see more pictures click below :

The only private island to make it on the list, Soneva Fushi, is touted as the ultimate island experience. The resorts piece de resistance is a 15,000-square-foot suite made up of six buildings built over the water. The two master suites have spacious living rooms along with luxurious baths: The circular glass showers are accessed via walkways through a private garden, and the bathtubs, perched on their own decks, feature day beds for lounging. The private spas have saunas, massage pavilions and gyms. Two personal assistants reside on-premise. All of this can be yours for $10,000 a night.

If that’s a little too much for you Soneva Fushi has a wide variety of other villas at more affordable prices. Each villa has the luxuries found in the best hotels. However, whilst offering all these modern day facilities, the utmost care has been given to make the resort environment-friendly, and to reflect the dream of a Robinson Crusoe experience. Thus, the hairdryer is hidden in the drawer of a coconut wood desk; the minibar, safe, and quadraphonic hi-fi are concealed behind rattan; the TV and DVD are delivered in a water hyacinth basket.

The Villas are placed so that your very own stretch of white sand beach is just a few steps away. There is dense vegetation in between each villa creating patios and gardens for secluded enjoyment. Various room categories are available with and without private pools

I’ve always thought Mark, that this paradise Island in the Maldives, would actually make a really good swear Word.

Quite often I’ve bitten my lip and thought Sonevafushi instead of the usual expletives.
Interesting site, will link to it shortly.
