20 Best Islands to Live on
By Islomaniac | June 26, 2007
Islands Magazine recently came out with a list of the 20 best islands to live on. None of these islands are private, but they are interesting none the less. I thought it was great that they chose a mix of islands from different geographical locations, with diverse economies and cultural backgrounds. Some of the criteria used to choose the islands was “flip flop quotient,” “expats to locals ratio,” “language spoken,” and the price of a local beer. Some of the islands that made it on the list include, Vanuatu, Norfolk Island, Cedar Key (Florida), Isla Colon (Panama) and Taveuni. My only request is that next year the choose some island in the US, Canada, and Europe. Sure they may not be high in the flip flop quotient, but there are some great islands in these areas.
