Quarantine Island Finds a New Owner
By Islomaniac | July 12, 2007
Despite its less than charming name this lovely little Irish Island had no trouble finding a buyer. Quarantine Island is a campers paradise, sitting within view of the rolling hills of County Cork. Unfortunately the island cannot be developed, however, it remains an excellent vacation opportunity for its new owners and its rich history makes it all the more enticing. Click below to find out how this island got its name.

The island’s name is a relic of a dark past, when infectious diseases were hard to control. Back in those days individuals were quarantined on this island (hence its name) in order to prevent the infection from spreading among the population. Fortunately those days are over and this charming property is ready to be the source of many happy new memories for its new owners.
