South Andros, described as one of the most beautiful and unspoilt islands in the Bahamas is also reputed to being home to the friendliest people on Earth. What makes these people so friendly? Well it could be that the island has no movie theatres, video rental stores, banks, ATMs, chain restaurants, major hotels, or major car rental. I know I would be happier without some of these facilities.

The population of south Andros is relatively small. The people live simply, living in small, single family homes sometimes clustered in small groups on a single tract of land. The mainstays of their economy are primarily derived from the harvesting delicacies such as lobster and conch, but there is a small tourism industry as well. So the next time you are in the Bahamas hop on a ferry and go visit the friendliest people on Earth.
