Island Castles Part 2
By Islomaniac | August 19, 2007
Singer Castle is located on Dark Island, one of the Thousand Islands on the St. Lawrence Seaway. Singer Castle is a beautifully renovated castle consisting of 28 rooms and 13 fireplaces. The castle was built out of granite quarried on oak island and it is on of the few castles in the world built on an island. The castle features stone spiral stairs, copper gutters, red-tile roofs, a dungeon and of course secret passageways.
The castle has recently gone under a massive renovation restoring it to its former glory. The island is currently open to the public allowing guests to explore this beautiful 100 year old castle. You can even stay in the castle’s royal suite which features luxury furnishings and priceless views of the surrounding area. The island is currently for sale for $22 Million which is still comparatively affordable considering its amenities, location and history.
