Cruises are also a popular choice for people looking to explore islands in the Mediterranean, Scandinavia, the Orient and South-East Asia. This allows passengers to get the private island experience all while having easy access the comforts and amenities of luxury cruise ships. Cruise ships that currently offer the private island experience include Disney’s Castaway Cay, Norwegian Cruise Lines Great Stirrup Cay, Royal Caribbean’s CocoCay and Costa Cruises Catalina Island, the island where Christopher Columbus was shipwrecked in 1492.
