15 years ago most people in the world had never heard of the internet, let alone imagined how much it would change their lives. Up until recently dreaming of islands meant either visiting them in person, or waiting until a magazine published images of islands. Today, thanks to the internet viewing islands around the globe can be done from the comfort of your home. All the major island companies have their own websites that are literally teaming with hundreds of islands, meaning that you can see, and imagine what it would be like to live on an island anywhere in the world. I recently came across an article in the Joplin Globe written by a journalist who, while watching Wheel of Fortune discovered private islands.
