Eddie Murphy-Private Island Owner

Famous funny man Eddie Murphy is also a member of the island owners club. The iconic comedian owns Long Cay (also known as Rooster Cay) in the Bahamas. Only five minutes away from Nassau the 15.4 acre property offers seclusion and tranquility to its famous owner. The island was originally sold as an ideal location for resort development and the west end of the island already has numerous cabanas. Nonetheless, there is little word on what has happened to the island since Murphy purchased it. I wouldn’t be surprised if Murphy rented the island out since other celebrities such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Shakira, Richard Branson, and David Copperfield have chosen to offer their islands for rent or are in the process of developing resorts. However, given the lack of media attention the island has received I am inclined to believe that the island will remain as Murphy’s private retreat.
