Could Nova Scotia be the Next Top Island Destination?
By Islomaniac | October 1, 2007
Belize has been getting a lot of attention as the next big destination for island sales. However, a recent article is pegging Nova Scotia, Canada as another likely contender to take the island world by storm. The article points out that Nova Scotia’s few houses and sparse population, make the region an ocean playground. However the area is not a huge private island market…yet. The article argues that the luxury real estate market in Nova Scotia is a well kept secret and that it remains below the radar on the island map. So what does all this mean to perspective island owners? Well according to the article many things. It means isolation, privacy, unmatched beauty, and of course great value for prospective buyers. It appears though that Nova Scotia status as the private islands world best kept secret is starting to change. The article notes that with foreign investment on the rise from regions like Europe and the
United States, as well as increased Canadian interest. Nova Scotia is in a prime location for those looking for an island destination closer to home than countries that, for social, political or economic reasons, may be geographically attractive but not necessarily conducive to long-term investment. In conclusion it does seem like Nova Scotia is poised to take the island world by storm, and its numerous advantages may outweigh its less than tropical climate.
