First Ever Underwater Resort to be Built in Fiji

By Islomaniac | October 13, 2007

underwater resortIt looks like something out of a science fiction movie. A  businessman is embarking on a project on a private island in Fiji.  Like most private islands the island is breathtaking but its whats being planned for the waters around the island that is attracting all of the attention.  The founder of the project is planning on building the first sea floor resort 40 feet below the surface.  The island is 225 acres and it is surrounded by a 5,000 acre beautiful pristine coral lagoon.

Access to the underwater resort starts with an elevator that takes you below the surface to the resort which will hold 24 private suits.  This seven star resort will have all the finest amenities and include a restauran, conference room and even a wedding chapel.  The resort itself will be built out of steel and thick transparent acrylic.  Built in several phases at different locations once it arrives on location it will be secured to the floor and will be up and running in just a couple of days. With a weeks stay starting at $15,000 a person for most it is an achievable, but once in a life time experience.
