Volunteering in the Marshall Islands

Marshall IslandsIf you are young, ambitious and looking to get a private islands style experience consider volunteering in a small island nation. Not only will you be able to live the island life, but you will also be making a difference in the lives of people who may very well be less fortunate than yourself. I recently came across a website the other day chronically the experiences of a young individual who is spending a year as a volunteer teacher in the Marshall Island. The blog is great for anyone planning on visiting and volunteering in a remote island nation for a long period of time and it provides an honest analysis of what it is like trying to adjust to a very different culture. The blog is called Hemnat in the Marshalls and I would recommend it for anyone who is planning on a similar trip or for old people like me who just want to read about the experiences and efforts of some of our most promising youth.
