Spiral Island Update

Two days ago I posted this article about Sprial Island a man made island located in a lagoon near Puerto Aventuras. The island was constructed out of 250,000 recycled pop bottles. Unfortunately the island was destroyed during Hurricane Emily in 2005. When I wrote the article I wondered whether or not the island would be rebuilt. Well, it turns out that the answer is yes. Richie Sowa the developer of this project has recently announced that he will be building another Spiral Island. This time the difference is the eco-friendly floating island will also be convertible into a floating ship and eco spa. The specifics on the island are relatively limited but I am sure this new island will be bigger and better than the original.
