Island of Lanai is Getting “Lost”
By Islomaniac | November 11, 2007
When talking about private islands in the media I often discuss movies like castaway and shows like survivor. However, one of the most popular shows on TV is set on a remote and hidden private island. This show of course is Lost. Apparently execs for Lost have descended on the tiny Hawaiian island of Lanai, not for the filming of the show but to celebrate the release of the show on DVD. Apparently Lanai offers a more accurate rendering of what it must be like for the survivors of the plane crash. Thus, it makes it
the ideal location for a release party for a private island TV show. Although being more remote than the real set for Lost, Lanai is by no means a desolate island. Lanai has long been a destination for the rich and famous, with Bill Gates actually marrying there several years back. In any case if you enjoy seeing private islands on TV I would strongly recommend watching this show or picking up the DVDs.
