Big Island, Little Price

By Islomaniac | December 20, 2007

Big Fish CayeAs most of my avid readers know whenever an island comes on the market that I think is a really good investment opportunity I like to report on it.  I recently came upon an island called Big Fish Cay.

Big Fish Cay is located in the beautiful and highly desirable Abacos chain of the Bahamas.  A freehold island, this property is 55 acres of untouched paradise.  In my experience it is rare to come across an undeveloped island of this size in this highly desirable region.

The island has two sandy beaches and is surrounded by waters between 5 and 15 feet deep which means (almost) any size boat can moor safely at the island.

The island is about an hour by boat from Treasure Cay a coastal community on Abaco Island that has several resorts and restaurants.  In addition the island is just 165 miles from Fort Lauderdale Florida making Big Fish Cay easily accessible from both the Bahamas and the US East Coast.  .

In addition to its size, location and features what makes Big Fish such a great catch is its price. The island is currently listed at just $2.4 million which I think is a very reasonable price for this island

Big Fish Cay does look like a good deal. There are maybe 2 or 3 other islands for sale in that region and for a lot more than 2.4 Million. They are also smaller. I wonder why its being marketed at such a low price.
