As I am sure many of my avid readers can tell you I am not very knowledgeable about technology. However I can identify products that would make island living easier, safer or more fun.  The underwater digital camera mask is the later. 

This scuba mask/camera, manufactured by Liquid Image, allows the user to take images underwater.  To take a picture all you need to do is line up the cross hair marks on the mask and then press the capture button.  There are LED lights on the outside so you can see that a picture was taken. 

The pictures (3.1 or 5.0 mega pixels) can be downloaded via USB to your computer.  The camera holds 16MB of images, and there is a MicroSD slot for additional images (I am not sure what microSD is though). 

Although not on the market yet, it is expected that the camera mask will cost about $99.  I personally think this is a great piece of island living technology.  Most people who own islands or visit private island resorts are fortunate enough to be able to explore the beautiful coral reefs that surround many of these islands.  It seems that this camera will allow one to take high resolution pictures of the islands underwater environment without running the risk of dropping/destroying their camera.
