Islands in the News

Pakatoa island I am always amazed at how many people are interested in privae islands. Before the internet very rarely did you here anything about these unique properties. Now, with the internet and a flood of rich and famous people buying islands, journalists have gotten on the band wagon and taken a keen interest in private islands.

For island lovers such as myself this can be a mixed blessing. Although there are some great articles, some journalists spend little time researching or fact checking their stories which results in articles that are often misleading. Yesterday the New Zealand Herald released an article that is a mix of the two. Although it released a lot of great information about islands in New Zealand it reported inaccurate information that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt bought an island in The World, Dubai.
