Seven Island Wonders of the World

By Islomaniac | January 17, 2008

Bishop rockPeople love making lists, I think categorizing things gives people a sense that everything in the world is in order.  One of my favorite lists has been produced by WebUrbanist.  The website recently wrote an article highlighting some of the “island wonders of the world”

Citing the fact that one in ten people in the world live on an island it is no wonder that there is a major fascination with islands.  The islands that made it onto the list of island wonders includes Pitcairn island home to the descendents of the HMS Bounty mutineers, Palmyra an island steeped in mystery and rumours of buried treasure, and Bouvet Island, the most remote and uninhabitated island in the world. Rounding out the list are Tristan da Cunha the most remote group of inhabitated islands in the world, Bishops Rock the worlds smallest island and Nauru the smallest independent island nation.

The article is a great read and has excellent photos and videos from some of these islands.  To read the complete article visit WebUrbanist.
