Private Islands named Number One Destination

Disney Cruise to Private Island For people who love islands, private islands have always been the destination of choice. However, over the last several years private islands and private island resorts have begun to show up on the radar of the general public.

In my opinion there are two reasons for this. First and foremost, the advent of the internet and private island websites such as Private Islands Online and Vladi Private Islands has brought the beauty, prestige and exclusivity of private islands to the forefront of the travel industry. Secondly, as cruise ships have begun searching for new ways to entice travelers they have turned to purchasing private islands to entice travelers looking for an exotic experience.

A new report published on Earthtimes.org confirms that private islands are becoming a top destination for cruisers. Here is a segment from the article:

“For many cruisers, the highlight of their voyages comes when their ships visit an exclusive private island for the day,” said Bob Levinstein, CEO of CruiseCompete.com. “User feedback tells us private islands are the favorite part of the cruise. Other than on a cruise, most people never have the experience of lounging all day on an exclusive, beautiful private island in the Caribbean.”

I think it’s amazing that so many people are discovering and enjoying private islands. I am curious how this interest in brief visits to islands will translate into sales of private islands? Ultimately, if there is this much growing interest in private islands, especially in the Caribbean, is it possible we could be seeing an island real estate boom in this area in the near future? I guess time will tell.
