Stay Warm and Stylish on your Island this Winter

EcoSmartAt this time of year most people’s thoughts turn to tropical private islands somewhere far away from the dreaded words “wind chill factor.” However, there are many island lovers/owners (myself included) who stay on their island for at least part of the winter months.

I thought today in celebration of those of us who “rough it” during the cold months I would share with you some very interesting fireplaces. EcoSmart is an Australian company that has developed stylish, energy efficient fireplaces that are powered by alternative energy.

EcoSmart Fire is a flue less openEcoSmart Fireplace fireplace that does not require any installation or utility connection for fuel supply. This means that they are easy to install on remote island homes! The fireplaces are fueled by a renewable modern energy known as Denatured Ethanol which burns clean and requires no maintenance.

I couldn’t find any information on what there heat output is or where you can purchase the fuel, but in my opinion they would certainly look beautiful in an island home.
