Floating Island in British Columbia

By Islomaniac | February 12, 2008

King Pacific LodgeKing Pacific Lodge, really isn’t a private island, it is actually a floating hotel. Located in British Columbia, Canada this floating lodge is a world renowned five star resort. Located in Canada’s Great Bear Rain forest this five star floating hotel is moored in the shelter of Barnard Harbor on Princess Royal Island.

The resort is actually not situated in the same location year round. Since it floats, every year the resort is towed to a location that captures the spectacular views of the region.

Open from May to October, guestsKing Pacific Lodge arrive at the hotel via sea plane. The resort offers all inclusive packages which typically last four days and include fishing, kayaking, hiking and wildlife viewing.

The hotel itself features 17 suites, which feature kind-size beds, window seating, and a slate lined bathroom. Prices for a four night/three day package start at $4,570 US. To learn more about this resort or make a reservation visit King Pacific Lodge.com

Would a person who knows, be so kind as to inform me of the type and brand of floats used for the British Columbia floating island referenced in this article.

    Thank you.
