Busch Gardens Announces Construction of Artificial Island in Dubai

By Islomaniac | March 1, 2008

Worlds of DiscoveryAnyone who is a fan of animal life or has ever traveled to Florida no doubt has heard of, or visited the famous Busch Gardens. Now the ever adventurous Busch Entertainment Corp, which owns nine major US attractions is partnering with Dubai developer Nakheel PJSC to develop four new Busch theme parks in Dubai.

The first two parks, SeaWorld and Acquatica are slated to open in 2012, the third park will be a Busch Gardens and the final park called Discovery Cove does not have a set completion date. The exciting thing about this project is that it will be built on a 300 acre artificial island shaped like Busch’s signature killer whale image.

The Worlds of Discovery Islands will rest at the top of the The Palm Jebel Ali, the world’s largest man made island. The report does not detail how much this project is expected to cost but it is rumored that Nakheels developments are overall worth about $60 billion.
