Islands Entering the Main Stream

By Islomaniac | March 12, 2008

Private IslandIt seems that every day a new publication is coming out with an article about the joys of island ownership.  The other day a fantastic article was released on SunJournal.com.  The article, in addition to profiling several beautiful islands also features the investment potential in islands, something rarely mentioned in other island articles. What few people realize is that with a little market research many investors are witnessing their island double or triple in value sometimes in just a few years.  Here is a segment from the article:

A Massachusetts couple owns it now. Appraised at $1,069,700, the sellers are asking $3.2 million for 60-acre Addison Island with two houses and solar power. The land sits to the west of Cape Split, just off the shore.

Although islands have huge investment potential I would be careful to make sure you don’t get greedy. If you’re island gets marked with a reputation for being over priced you will have difficulty selling it.   To read the full article visit the Sun Journal
