In recent years the Bahamas, Fiji and even the Dalmation coast of Croatia have been island hot spots for celebrities. It seems that the new number one holiday retreat for A-list celebrities is Turks and Caicos. Rosemary McClure a reporter for the LA times recently went on an island hopping tour of the region and encountered many celebrities. On Parrot Cay, andexclusive private island resort she encountered Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones. Nearby she found the multi-million dollar homes of Bruce Willis, Christie Brinkley and Donna Karan. On another nearby resort McClue noticed Conan O’Brian soaking up some sun on one of the regions pristine beaches.

There is no doubt that Turks and Caicos has become a hot spot for the rich and famous, but the question is why? It turns out that there are a couple of reasons. First the tiny nation which is just east of Cuba is only a 75 minute flight from Miami, which makes it the ideal spot for a quick weekend getaway. In addition this regions offers what many others can’t…privacy! The islands only have about a dozen or so boutique resorts all of which are high end, with stays costing around $1,000/night. Therefore by virtue Turks and Caicos ensures privacy and pampering for its exclusive clients.
