Private Island Birthday Parties

Private Island BirthdayAlthough not really mainstream yet, more and more people are celebrating birthdays, anniversaries and engagements on private islands. From the rustic to the lavish increasing numbers of couples are renting private islands to celebrate monumental occasions on.

For example it was reported last year that British Billionaire Philip Green celebrated his 55th birthday on a private island in the Maldives. The five-day celebration featured giant Buddha statues, topless dancers, 500 cases of vintage champagne, and fireworks that formed the shape of palm trees. It is estimated that the event cost 20 Million Pounds and included celebrity guests such as Jennifer Lopez and George Michael.

Not all people are spending millions on their private island birthday bashes. A few days before Green I celebrated my birthday on my private island, and instead of champagne we had beer and instead of caviar we had steak. It was a great day, and I couldn’t imagine spending my birthday anywhere else…except maybe the Maldives.
