The World’s Largest Man-Made Island to be Built
By Islomaniac | April 17, 2008
The property boom in Dubai knows no limits. Virtually every week I receive information about a new development project in the region, and each one seems to outdo the last. Dubai’s latest project, the Palm Deira will put Nakheel’s island developing methods to the test. Completing the Palm Trilogy the Palm Deira is set to become the worlds largest man made private island.
With a surface area of 46.35 million square meters, the Palm Deira will be bigger than Paris! The Palm trilogy was created to solve Dubai’s beach shortage, and development of the project actually began bag in 2003.
The newest Palm Island will feature a mix of commercial, residential apartment, and mixed use plots set to create a family oriented, self-contained community as well as a commercial hub for visitors and residents alike. Upon completion, the Palm Deira will be a waterfront city home to over one million people.
