Lavish Private Island: $4.9M

By Islomaniac | April 27, 2008

Scott IslandA new private island has come on the market just off the coast of Vancouver Island in Canada, and the Calgary Herald has given its readers a sneak peak.  Located in the famous Gulf Islands, the 2.13 acre island known as Scott Island comes complete with sandy beaches, walking tails, a tennis court and a massive 4,541 square foot home.  The home features, five bedrooms and six bathrooms in the main wing and another two bedrooms and two baths in the caretakers wing.  There is no worry of running out of power since electricity is supplied by an underwater hydro line and a high tech rainwater collection system supplies treated drinking water and a sewage treatment plant handles waste. The island’s current owner, a Welsh baronet, also had a million-dollar, deep-water harbour built where owners can easily dock their boats after making a quick run to Vancouver Island for supplies or to enjoy the amenities.  This has to be one of the most developed islands I have seen come on the market in a while, and although on the market for 4.9 million dollars, it is actually a pretty good price.
