The Palm to Get a Little Bigger

By Islomaniac | June 3, 2008

QE2The Palm Jumeirah the worlds largest man-made island is about to get a little bigger with the addition of a big new hotel.  This hotel is not your run of the mill island resort either.  The QE2, arguably the worlds most famous ocean liner is about to be retired as an ocean going vessel. However the grand dame of the seas will not be junked or left to rust in some ship yard.  Instead the QE2 is goign to be turned into a luxury floating hotel and docked at the Palm Jumeirah. The shi is excepted to make its final voyge to Dubai in November where retrofitting will begin. I am curious to see how the 55-year-old, 70 tonne ship will look when they are done renovating it!
