The Haapiti Islands
By Islomaniac | July 5, 2008
From time to time people send me pictures of islands, sometimes they have a description or a name of the island, sometimes they just have a picture. The one thing that is common amongst all these people is they want to know more about the island.
Yesterday someone sent me a picture of the Haapiti Islands (pictured above). The person who sent me the picture came across it online and wanted to know more about it. When it comes to the Haapiti Islands I am happy to oblige. The Haapiti Islands have the good fortune of being among the most beautiful islands in the world and located in one of the most beautiful destinations in the world.
Located in Bora Bora in French Polynesia, the Haapiti Islands, or Haapiti Rahi and Haapiti Iti as they are individually known are just 3.5 acres in size. One of the islands is developed while the other remains undeveloped. The island which is developed features two homes, water, electricity and sewage.
What makes the islands so alluring in addition to their pristine condition is their location. The islands have incredible views of the extinct volcano with its double peak that dominates the main island and has made Bora Bora the most coveted island in the world.
The Haapiti Islands are actually on the market right now. The islands are priced at 12 million Euro’s which to many may seem like a lot. However, the islands are beautiful and highly developed. In addition, like a diamond, the islands location in a rare area make the islands worth more than they would be if they were located in any other region of the planet. Therefore I would expect these rare gem’s to only remain on the market a short while.
