Incredible feats of engineering and architecture are being revealed on what seems like a daily basis. However, a new pyramid city project being proposed in Dubai could be coming to a man-made island sometime in the not to distant future.

Dubai-based environmenal design firm Timelinks recently released plans for the development of a giant eco pyramid called Ziggurat.  This carbon neutral pyramid city which will be unveiled this October at Dubai’s Cityscape event would cover 2.3 acres and house up to 1 million people.

The pyramid which would be run completely off the grid, would have its own public transportation system that would travel both horizontally and vertically. The plans for the development place the island on a man made island, so it is possible that the first pyramid city could be built on artificial island sometime in the near futre.
