Teenager Inherits Island with Buried Treasure

Buried TreasureI

Imagine not only inheriting an island, but inheriting an island that holds the promise of buried treasure. Well according to Private Islands Magazine that is exactly what happened to a 17-year-old Michigan teen. The article tells the story of Josh, the favorite grandson of Samuel, a survivor a the great depression and a man known for being both frugal and taciturn.

Josh apparently found favor in the eyes of his grandfather and when he died in 2007, Josh inherited everything including a 36-acre island. But there was something else in the will that no one expected … a detailed list of antique jewellery and loose gems contained “in the thermos.”  However, a searching the granfathers home revealed no thermos. After some time Josh’s mother Susan remembered somthing her father had said about his “treasure island”. Remembering that her father was a man of the great depression and did not trust the banks it suddenly became plausible that there was buried treasure on the island.

Now the search is on to find the treasure and their are big plans for the money if it is found.   To read the complete article visit Private Islands Magazine.
