Like the idea of camping on an island, but don’t like traditional tents? If so you may want to consider a tree tent. Designer Dre Wapenaar has designed a variety of tree house tents ideal for the eco friendly island traveller who wants to minimize the environmental impact on their island.

The tents are composed of a steel frame wrapped in canvas and measure 13-feet-tall with a nine-foot diameter. The interior is outfitted with a spacious hardwood sleeping platform and a round mattress large enough for two adults and two children. Currently the tree tents are only available at a few campsites in the Netherlands, but it may not be very long before you spend your next island vacation in a tree tent.
