The President Elect is planning to take a little R&R over the Christmas break before he officially takes office in the New Year. According to reports from the Associated Press, Obama plans on returning to his native Hawaii in order to rest and relax with friends and family. 

Obama will be vacationing on Kailua and according to one insider Obama will be renting three modern, multimillion-dollar homes.

The homes wrap around a swimming pool, with palm trees and grassy lawns. Obama and his friends plan to rent the privately owned homes for several days. Obama last stayed in Kailua in August, when he took a weeklong vacation with his family.

Obama’s spokesman would not comment on his holiday travel plans, including when his vacation will be. And Democratic Party leaders and officials called by The Advertiser said they could not confirm or deny the AP report.

Here is hoping that Obama and his family have a safe and happy holiday. After the year he has had, he certainly deserves the break.
