Odaiba: A Man Made Island
Odaiba is a large artificial island located in Tokyo Bay, Japan. Originally built for defensive purposes in the 1800s the island was expanded in the 20th century to become part of a growing seaport. The island was redeveloped again in the 1990’s to become a major commercial, residential and leisure area.
Today the island is home to Fuji Television, the Aqua City shopping centre, a replica of the statue of liberty and the museum of maritime science. For more information on Odaiba visit Wikipedia.
