Tahiti is singluar in its beauty and it is a destination that everyone should experience at least once in their lifetime. The problem is, in recent years Tahiti has grown to be one of the world’s top luxury destinations. With resorts like the St. Regis, the Le Meridien and the Le Tahaa Private Island Resort, travel to Tahiti does not make for a budget friendly vacation. That being said there are some deals to be found, and Tahiti is still accessible to the average working family.

For those of you interested in visiting Tahiti on a budget, Club Med is a great option. Though it is an older resort, its well maintained and the price is right. The resort is made up of bungalows, although none of them are over the water.  Another option is to go the privately owned island resorts. There are a number of privately owned inns, motels and bed and breakfasts  which are typically owned by a native family and offer a unique way to experience Polynesian life.
