A few days ago I posted an article about the challenges associated with finding an island caretaker position (click HERE to read). Therefore I was suprised when yesterday I discovered a notice for an island caretaker position in my e-mail. 

Located in Australia the position is for caretaker of the Islands of the Great Barrier Reef (visit the site here).  This newly created position is diverse in its responsibilities, however the most important duty is to report back to Tourism Queensland letting them know what is taking place on the Islands of the Great Barrier Reef (for a complete list of responsibilities click here).

Unlike many island caretaker jobs this  position offers an excellent wage and benefits. The successful candidate will win a sixth month contract extending from July 1st 2009 to January 1, 2010. The successful candidate will be transported to Hamilton Island where they will reside in a modern three bedroom home.

Next: Upload a video and a photo; applications must be in English, less than 60 seconds, and be an MPEG, AVI, MOV or WMV file under 100MB. Remember to be enthusiastic, creative and entertaining in your speach, afterall you are trying to convince them why you are the best candidate for the job.

The application deadline is February 22, 2009.
