There are seemingly no limits to the type of pre-fab structure you can put on your island. If you are into modern or post-modern architecture you may want to consider the Mod.Fab home.

Inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright and developed by the students at Taliesin West the goal of the project is to develop an elegant yet sustainable prefab home condusive for living in remote environments (i.e. private islands).

The structure uses a combination of passive and active environmental control systems including natural ventilation and lighting, and a gray water recycling system along with water catchment. Solar panels are installed adjacent to the bedroom, providing both privacy and power.
