Explore Castaway Cay
Disney was one of the first cruise line companies to offer a private island as part of their itinerary. Formerly known as Gorda Cay, Disney is said to have spent $25,000,000 to develop the island. Construction took 18 months and included dredging 50,000 truckloads of sand in order to allow Disney ships to dock alongside. A variety of activities are available to guests including bicycles, personal watercraft, snorkeling, and parasailing. There are three beaches for guests: one for families, one for teens, and another exclusively for adults, aptly called Serenity Bay. A post office on the island has special Bahamian postage specific to Disney Cruise Line, and a “Castaway Cay” postmark. Check out the video above to discover Castaway Cay for yourself.
