Not to be outdown by Samsung (Read: Samsung Introduces Solar Powered Phone) LG recently unveiled their own solar powered concept phone at a conference in Barcelona.

Still unnamed, this green phone is made out of recycled water bottles and will contain a built in CO2 emissions calculator, which I am not sure is necessary on a remote private island.

No word on when the LG phone will hit the market or how much it will cost. I am excited by the progress these phone companies are making. Two of the biggest challenges associated with island communications is connectivity/reception and power. These new phones seems to have made the later challenge a thing of the past.
