Increasing Water Efficiency
Even when it is abundant fresh water on an island is a precious resource. Island owners often go to great lengths to ensure there is an adequate supply of water for drinking, bathing and other activities of daily living.
Although there are plenty of devices that have been developed that can help clean and conserve water, some of the best are home home grown inventions.
I was recently reading about an Australian man who developed a water saving device after he saw his water bill strike due to his teenage daughters lengthy showers. The device called the Aqualim requires no electrical parts and can be retrofitted to any existing showerhead.
The device is designed to shut off after a certain amount of water has been used. More specifically, after a particular volume of water has been used, the device first reduces the flow, and then shuts off completely.
For more information visit Aqualim.
