Although in many cases one must travel to the far corners of the planet to visit exotic private islands, there are many that are not as far away as one might think.  The Caribbean Travel News reminded me of this when I came across their brief article featuring some of the best Private Island Resorts in the world.

Their list included Kamalame Caye a 96 acre island in the Bahamas which houses a spa located on a pier with floor to ceiling views and Parrot Cay in the Turks and Caicos where luxurious villas stand in stark contrast to some of the flashier mainland resorts in the area.
