The Top Ten Floating Hotels
The Calgary Herald in Canada recently released their list of the world’s top ten floating hotels. Although floating hotels are not technically private islands, they create much of the same feeling of isolation and intimacy that private islands elicit. In addition, many floating hotels are moored of the shores of private islands. Not only does this type of arrangement save money on construction it also preserves the unique environment of an island.
Topping the list of the world’s best floating hotels is King Pacific Lodge in British Columbia Canada, which allows guests to experience pristine wilderness without sacrificing five star comforts. Also on the list is Reef World, Australia a five star underwater resort and spa that is still in the planning stages and Oberoi Udaivilas, India which is one of the world’s most visually stunning hotels. Rounding out the list is the famous Conrad Maldives and the Bora Bora lagoon resort in French Polynesia.
