About The Islomaniac™
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Mark Amherst and my dream was to create the biggest, best blog for private islands on the internet!
My desire to start a private islands website comes from my life long travels to private islands and island resorts around the word. From Trinidad, to Tahiti, from Maine to the Maldives, I have visited almost every region on the planet. Not only have I spent a great deal of time traveling to islands I also have spent the majority of my life living on a private island. My island called Amherst Island has been the epicenter of family life for my family for five generations now, and now that I am retired I am lucky enough to live here full time.
My life long journey of living on, and traveling to private islands has provided me with a wealth of knowledge about private islands. It is my pleasure to share my knowledge and experience on this website. I thoroughly enjoy publishing news stories, island living tips and insider information on the island world on a daily basis. If you are at all in interested in islands, this is the place to be!
I invite you all to spend some time on the website. If you have a question that hasn’t been answered send me an e-mail and I will do my best to answer it, and if I can’t I know the island experts who can.
All the best,
Mark John Amherst (The Islomaniac™)

Hi,
I am a island freak too. I want to have one, one day.
I think it is good to be in touch. I am a business consultant, a freelance web developer and designer as well .

Greetings Mr. Amherst,
I’m the Marketing Director for Chris Blackwell’s Goldeneye Resort. Mr. Blackwell founded Island Records 50 yrs. ago and went on to become a renowned hotelier as well. We are currently expanding Goldeneye and offering private residences for the first time in an Island Outpost resort. I’ve enjoyed looking through your site and must confess to having been an island addict myself. I’d like the chance to discuss our project with you further, at your convenience.
Let me know if there would be a time that we could talk.
All the best,
Bryant
I have had a psychological bent for the idea of an island;but watching from a distance, I now have some serious thoughts on island ownership future. The living /development costs issues seem to be slowly improving with technology.
I would very much apreciate any answers you would be willing to give to some of my questions. Let me know if this is OK
Is amherst island in north east?
I am from toronto.
Thanks
